IBAC would like to introduce you to its International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH™). The IS-BAH™ is designed to promote use of industry best practices blended through a progressive Safety Management System (SMS) for Fixed Based Operations (FBO) and Business Aircraft Handling Agencies (BAHA).
As a valued supporter of the IS-BAO™ programme you will be fully aware an effective SMS should factor in the risks associated with having other entities perform tasks and services that may impact the service provider’s performance. As an aid, IS-BAO™ registered companies, will now be offered the IS-BAH™ Standard document for download at no additional cost each year, as part of your IS-BAO™ package.
The IS-BAH™ follows the long established structure of the IS-BAO™ and incorporates the NATA Safety 1st Ground Audit Programme. As one global industry code of best practices, IS-BAH™ features, at its core, a safety management system (SMS), and also includes a registration process, auditor credentialing, audit approval process, and a manual and fully integrated implementation guide.
Conforming to these standards and recommended practices is voluntary and may be self-administered. However, recognition for implementation of and conformance to the standards is available via an independent third party auditing process that results in an IBAC certificate of registration.
The SMS component allows an IS-BAH™ registered FBO/BAHA to gain recognition, for having in place a well-founded safety management development process. We trust that any organization involved in delivering or procuring services will see value from The IS-BAH™ standards designed to help quality processes, policies and procedures and to help reduce risks to customers and clients.
