European ETS
•Guidelines for Operators on European Union ETS Monitoring Plans
Guidelines have been developed to assist non-EU based operators of aircraft that fly into Europe and are considered to be a Small Emitter. The EC directive requires operators to submit Monitoring Plans to administering States either at the end of August 2009 or as indicated in the Guidelines for those States that have delayed the reporting date. The Guidelines will help determine applicability and required actions.

•EUROCONTROL Releases Small Emitters’ Tool for ETS Compliance
Many business aviation operators may opt to use a simplified method to determine their fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions for European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (EU-ETS) monitoring and reporting purposes. EUROCONTROL has released a European Commission-approved tool in the form of a Microsoft Excel file that allows an operator to calculate and record its annual emissions that are subject to the EU-ETS.
